Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your device to help the site provide a better user experience. Cookies are used to remember preferences and to provide anonymised statistics to third-party services such as Google Analytics. You can choose which cookies you accept, and you can change your mind at any time.
Who is responsible
Sintel, River House (third floor), Blackpool Park, Cork, T23 R5TF, Ireland, is the controller of personal data processed through this website. Contact: info@sintel.ie.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by the websites you visit. They usually contain the name of the website they came from, how long they are stored and a unique identifier. They let a website recognise your device and show content that matches your preferences. “Session” cookies are temporary and disappear when you close your browser. “Persistent” cookies stay on your device for a set time or until you delete them.
How we ask for consent
Except for strictly necessary storage, we set cookies only after you agree. When you first visit, the cookie banner offers Accept and Reject. Nothing from Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics is loaded before you accept. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and rejecting does not limit your use of the site.
Cookies we use
| Category | Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | sintel-cookie-consent (browser storage, not a cookie) | Sintel | Remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask on every visit. | Until you change it or clear your browser data |
| Analytics | _ga | Distinguishes visitors to produce anonymised usage statistics. | 2 years | |
| Analytics | _ga_<container id> | Keeps session state for Google Analytics. | 2 years |
Google may update the names and durations of its cookies. They are subject to Google’s own policies: How Google uses cookies.
Legal basis
We rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Regulation 5 of the ePrivacy Regulations, S.I. No. 336 of 2011) for analytics cookies. Storing your cookie choice is strictly necessary to respect that choice and does not require consent.
International transfers
Google may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How to change or withdraw your choice
Open cookie settings at any time to accept or reject analytics cookies. Withdrawing consent clears the Google Analytics cookies set by this site and stops the tags from loading. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect some features of websites.
Do cookies contain personal data?
Cookies can contain online identifiers, which are personal data under the GDPR. We use them only for the purposes above, and we do not use them to identify you personally. Analytics reports are aggregated.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise your rights, email info@sintel.ie. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
